Overview
These Terms of Use govern your use of the Marquee iOS app ("Marquee", "the app", "we", "us"). By downloading or using Marquee, you agree to these terms.
Marquee is a personal movie tracking app. It is free, requires no account, and stores all data on your device. These terms are intentionally simple because the app is intentionally simple.
License
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Marquee on Apple devices you own or control, in accordance with Apple's App Store Terms of Service.
You may not:
- Copy, modify, or distribute the app or its content
- Reverse-engineer or attempt to extract source code from the app
- Use the app for any commercial purpose or on behalf of any third party
- Use the app in any way that violates applicable law or regulation
Third-Party Content
Marquee displays movie data sourced from third-party services. We are not responsible for the accuracy, completeness, or availability of that data.
- TMDB (The Movie Database): movie titles, posters, release dates, and ratings. Use of TMDB data is subject to TMDB's terms of use at themoviedb.org/documentation/api/terms-of-use.
- OMDb (Open Movie Database): IMDB ratings. Subject to OMDb's terms at omdbapi.com.
All movie metadata displayed in Marquee belongs to its respective owners. Marquee does not claim ownership of any movie titles, posters, or ratings data.
Your Data
All data you enter into Marquee (your watchlist, notes, recommenders, and preferences) is stored locally on your device. We do not collect, access, or transmit this data. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
No Warranty
Marquee is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that:
- The app will be available at all times or free from errors
- Movie data from third-party APIs will be accurate or up to date
- Notifications will fire at the exact time scheduled
- iCloud sync will be available or error-free
Your use of the app is at your own risk.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of Marquee, including but not limited to, loss of data, missed cinema releases, or reliance on inaccurate movie information.
Apple's Terms
Marquee is distributed through Apple's App Store. Your use of the app is also subject to Apple's App Store Terms of Service. In the event of any conflict between these terms and Apple's terms, Apple's terms take precedence with respect to App Store usage.
Apple is not a party to these Terms and has no obligation to provide support or maintenance for Marquee.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The current version is always published at this URL with an updated effective date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by applicable law. Any disputes shall be resolved in the jurisdiction where the developer is based.
